Here's a picture taken this past summer of a spot on the shore of the mighty Ottawa River. It's right where the Small Mouth Bass chase lures with abandon and a little friendly fire always sooths the soul of this gently aging Ottawa outdoorsman...

Does it remind you of anywhere? :-)

To-day's picture I've called Lifesavers...No candy here folks, just neat little chunks of kool gear that can make the difference between life and death. In the bush, little things are very important and some of the stuff shown here should accompany you if you spend any time in the woods or travel a number of highway miles to get back and forth to work, every day. Anyway, I wanted y'all to know that there are some neat little gadgets out there these days that add a pile of pleasure to the outdoor experience without crushing yer pocketbook...Yesterday and today, winter officially dumped a shit-load of snow on us. I was almost late for work this a.m. because of the bad traffic, late, crowded buses, slushy, slow walking etc. Man, not a nice way to start yer day. On the other hand, if I was say out in the bush it would be a beautiful winter wonderland and an amazing way to begin my day. Location can be everything, just like in my favorite sport of fishing.

I believe tomorrow is my last day at Solutions, unless they offer me a job perhaps... Another seven and a half hours of cleanish labor work and not too heavy at that. ;-) It rocks, workin' with Jeff and Mark so of course that helped to make the week go fast, despite the heavy workload. :-)

Tuesday already and I didn't even stop for my by bi-weekly box of greasy chicken. Hmmm, saved a duce and a pile of bad fat calories to boot. Not a bad deal there. Think maybe I'll pass on even the bi-weekly thing in the future. A guys gotta watch his waistline ya know. ;-)

A last look at leaves, before the big white...

So it's Sunday night already and my back is needin' LARGE relax time. The boys and I worked at the Henry's Camera Show from 4 till about ten to eight, then Bill, one of the head honchos there, loaded us up with terrific sandwiches just before signing our time sheets. :-) Awesome!

Interested in a picture of my latest little slick pouch? Well, here it is. Soft kid leather, belt loop on the back, extra pocket on front and a zippered opening, makes this a very sweet little unit to pack around. Anyone else do pouches?

Sweet pocket stuff...

Here's a recent picture of three of my teeniest lock-back knives. Although they may look like mere toys to some, you can bet yer boots that I've put them through their paces and all I can say is that these little beauties totally ROCK!

The little boy on the right was purchased along with it's twin by my very best buddy Bruce and I about four years ago and mine has been in my pocket all that time. I've lost track of how many times, and in how many places, this slick little blade has helped me out. In the woods or in the city, this mini knife has SO paid for itself. The two studs on his left are my more recent scores but they have already proven to be very effective, efficient, carry anywhere-ish and totally economical to boot, so a bright guy simply can't afford, NOT to own one of 'em. ;-)

Anyone else out there do little pocket knives? Drop me a note if you want, I'd LOVE to hear from any other blade fanciers too. :-)

Be good y'all...

Bravehost - Sponsors yet another Cool Canadian Webmaster!

It's a link to another one of my little low-key websites for y'all to check out...

Where did October go? Man, I know my Birthday was in there somewhere and everything but still, the whole month has just flashed by! Here's a couple of little pics I took recently to show some of the projects I'm workin' on and some of the gear I use. Lately the big kick has been in the fine art/science of EDC's. More on those later, but for now, have yourself a peek @ some of the shit I'm into in these shots...

Essential Woods Gear...

Here's a kool little fire-stick or ferro rod to get you fire, a tiny but powerful white led light or torch as they are often referred to by Outdoorsmen and a real slick mini lock-back that lives on my keyring every day. All this power in such a tiny pack...

How 'bout this freaky little Mushroom I found out in the deep woods last week? Anyone ever seen this wicked little shroom in their travels? Drop me a note about it if you have. I'd love to hear about it and maybe what it is called etc.

Here's a very Soft kid leather, low-key, go anywhere, belt pouch, with a sample of some of the gear that travels in it. The twonie shows the size of everything so you can see that it's all pretty small and unassuming.
